There are plenty of things to do while on vacation in Puerto Pollensa, Majorca. Also called Port de Pollenca, the former fishing village has become a vacation resort for singles, families, retired couples, and newlyweds.

Monograph Museum of Pollensa

This museum has displays showing what life was like in Puerto Pollensa during the Roman occupation of Majorca. The building in which the museum is located in dates back to the 1300s, when it was used as a hospital.

Beaches

The beaches in Puerto Pollensa are simply fabulous. You can take part in all kinds of water sports or just lounge around soaking up the warm rays.

Pollensa Catamaran Excursion

You can take a half-day and go on a catamaran excursion in the Bay of Pollensa. Swim, snorkel, sunbathe, relax, fish and see the town from out on the bay.

Caves of Drach

Also called the Caves del Drach, Coves del Drac or Cuevas del Drach, the “Dragon Caves” are four huge caves located near Puerto Pollensa. The four connected caves are called Cave of the French, White Cave, Black Cave, and Cave of Luis Salvador.

Pine Walk

Pine Walk is one of the best ways to see Puerto Pollensa. Take an evening stroll along the boardwalk and enjoy the walking trail, lined with pine trees and palms. The promenade runs most of the way down the resort.

Pollensa Music Festival

Every July and August, the annual Pollensa Music Festival features classical music concerts. Some previous performances featured: The Orchestre National de France, The King’s College Choir of Cambridge, Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Montserrat Caballé, and the Pittsburg Symphony Orchestra.

Pollensa Municipal Museum

Located in an old Dominican convent built in the late 1500s or early 1600s, the Polenssa Municipal Museum has paintings of the surrounding area, archaeological finds, the Atilio Boveri collection, and a Buddhist mandala on display.

Pollensa

Just a short five kilometre trip inland is the old town of Pollensa. Many historic buildings remain, dating back to the 1300s. One of the buildings still standing was a Jesuit convent, now used as the Town Hall.

Whether you want to walk, boat, or lounge on the beach, there are plenty of activities and attractions to keep you busy when visiting this beautiful port on the island of Majorca.
