It is known as one of the most haunted castles in Britain. The haunted stories of this castle state that a ghost called “blue boy” haunts the Pink Room. Many guests have reported hearing a long wailing sound and seeing a blue light or halo in this room. Bodies of a man and a young boy were discovered, bricked inside a 10-foot thick wall, during renovations. It is claimed that the hauntings still continue.
Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Playground is situated in one of the more creepy and remote areas in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania. Also known as one of the vampire haunted castles.
The haunted stories say that Dracula impaled his victims, thousands at a time, even torturing them for months until they eventually died. This castle is world renowned for its haunted fame and may be the place to visit if you want to be scared to death!
Haunted by over a 100 ghosts, Dragsholm Castle in Denmark, built in the 12th century is now a well known hotel. Haunted castles usually sport a particular ghost, while this one has three well known spirits that are continuously demanding attention. The Earl of Bothwell, Grey Lady and White Lady are the characters from these haunted stories. The White Lady was a young girl who fell in love with a commoner and was imprisoned in her room. During renovations workers came across a small skeleton wearing a white dress, in a recess in the walls. Horrific! Perhaps this castle will be worth a visit.
